ORSYmobil - Crash Safety

After the Vehicle Equipment was crash tested in 1997 according to DIN 75410 and FMVSS 208 the latest development was thoroughly tested in 2002 according to ECE R17.

Altogether four tests were made at the Automobil Test Center from DEKRA at the Eurospeedway Lausitzring to prove the stability of the equipment in vehicles.

The test results showed that the Würth equipment fulfills all requirements both on the deceleration sled as well as in the bodyshell.

The test laboratory confirmed: "The vehicle equipment complies with the test requirements. The brought in load was securely held back by the vehicle equipment. There was no danger to possible occupants by sliding or disengaging load".

With the deceleration sled different mountings were tested particularly.

Both the firmly connected equipment as well as the floated mounting using drive-in nuts on the floor base plate resulted in an excellent attachment to the body and the side panel of the vehicle. Depending on the height of the vehicle equipment two to four connecting points have to be affixed.

By the deforming performance of the original Würth support brackets a reduction of the occuring forces is achieved similar to the crush zone of the vehicles.
