2016 is set to be the best year yet for True Heroes Racing

2016 brings a new season in for True Heroes Racing Team along with a new rider, a bigger support team and a bold plan to expand into a second class at the British Superbike Championships.

Competing in motorsport at the highest level is an immense challenge for anyone, but provides the injured Service personnel in the team with a real focus and goal to strive for. To do it on two wheels generates specific challenges, but shows the world that they can achieve anything their able bodied counterparts can do.

Motorcycle racing is a fast, frenetic and high pressure environment, not too dissimilar in many ways to the battlefield. It is also a world many Service personnel would not have considered open to them, even when they were fully able bodied.

After an initial season at a club level in 2012, in 2013 and 2014 True Heroes Racing competed in the Triumph Triple Challenge, which was a lead support race at the World renowned British Superbike Championships. For the 2015 season True Heroes Racing continued to expand, offering even more unique opportunities for injured Service personnel, and were the largest single team competing in the Ducati TriOptions Cup, again at the British Superbike Championships, with a 3 rider line up.

Starting with a single rider in 2012 the team has grown year-on-year and is now the professional unit seen and followed by thousands across the UK and beyond.

In the longer term True Heroes Racing has even bigger expansion aspirations and wants to be able to form the UK’s first injured Serviceman’s Superbike team, competing at the top level against professional, full factory supported teams. This would also lead the team to a position where it would be able to offer paid employment for injured UK Service personnel as part of this top flight team.

Würth UK has supported True Heroes from their beginning and this year we continue to do so. In appreciation of our help, they have provided us with a sponsor frame, which can be seen at Head Office.

Good luck to the whole team for this season!
