What is PPE?

Personal Protection Equipment is any equipment or clothing worn by a person to reduce exposure to certain workplace risks. PPE can include items such as safety helmets, high-visibility clothing, gloves etc.

Why is PPE important?

Personal Protection Equipment can be very important, as without using any form of protection, workers can be exposed to various hazards that can cause different injuries or illness. For example, hazardous substances such as chemicals and asbestos can lead to respiratory problems and even cancer. Working with heavy machinery can also lead to body injuries such as cuts and bruises.
