WHICH SCAFFOLDING DO YOU NEED FOR YOUR PROJECT?

Folding & Rolling Scaffolding

In addition to landing stairs , double stairs and various types of ladders, Würth also has a folding and rolling scaffold in its program. But when do you choose which scaffolding? You can easily find out by answering the questions in this blog.

Will I use the scaffolding indoors or outdoors?

A folding scaffold, also called a folding scaffold, is often used indoors. In addition, a mobile scaffold is often used outdoors. Of course it is possible to use both scaffolding for both indoors and outdoors. One of the parts that makes the rolling tower extremely suitable for outdoor use are the height-adjustable double-braked 125mm wheels with robust tilt brakes. In this way, the mobile scaffold can easily be leveled horizontally and leveled. Use the light metal level for this. This means that this scaffolding can be used on almost any surface. The folding scaffold is equipped with 4x braked 125mm wheels with rubber tread. These cannot be adjusted in height.

What is the working height at which I have to work?

First a short explanation about the difference between platform height and working height. The working height is the height at which you can work when you are standing on the scaffolding platform. So if you express this in a simple calculation: Platform height + own height = the working height. On average, 2 meters is counted for your own body length. Since almost anyone can reach this height when the arms are extended.

A folding scaffold is the ideal solution for all jobs where you have to work just above your strength. Think of painting and plastering jobs and renovation work. Our Basic folding scaffold can be used as standard up to a working height of 3.00 metres. If you mainly perform work outdoors at heights higher than 3.00 metres, we recommend our Rolling Scaffold Expander One.

What is the maximum allowed working height?

Scaffolding inside up to a working height of 12 meters and scaffolding outside up to a working height of 8 meters do not officially need to be anchored. Scaffolding suitable for working above these heights must be anchored to the facade or inner wall and are the maximum permitted working heights for both indoors and outdoors: 12 meters for a narrow and 20 meters for a wide mobile scaffold. Both our folding and rolling scaffolds are narrow scaffolds with a maximum working height of 12 metres.

Please note: when working at height, the wind can be very dangerous

That is why it is also mandatory to anchor a scaffold at wind force 6.

Is a safety harness mandatory when using scaffolding?

If there is a front railing frame and two horizontal braces (at knee and hip height) a safety harness is not required. However, looking at the dozens of serious accidents involving scaffolding every year (source: SZW Inspectorate), we definitely recommend a safety harness. This offers extra safety so that you can also carry out your work on the scaffolding with greater peace of mind. Above a working height of 6 metres, the safety harness must be fitted with a shock absorber
