Good construction companies in the UK are always looking out for quicker and more cost-effective ways to get jobs done. Buying better materials and tools gives you an advantage when it comes to completing contracts on-time and on-cost. Wurth UK’s technical experts are always on the look out to find the most modern construction methods that can help give you that competitive advantage.
Joining structural timbers
How would you join two C24 structural timbers together? The standard method would be to pre-drill a hole using an auger drill bit for either a 12 mm hex or coach bolt. This would be paired with some square and tooth washer. The whole assembly is then tightened up using a spanner, ratchet or nut runner.

The modern method is to use some 8 x 80 mm ASSY4 screws with a drill or impact driver. Choose between the domed washer head or flat washer head version. Less tools, less fuss and the job gets done quicker.
